DURHAM NOCKAMIXON AND PALISADES HIGH SCHOOL RECEIVE RECOGNITION FROM THE BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS ORGANIZATION

2023 was the first full year that the Bigs (from PHS) and the Littles (from DN) were able to complete their work together as mentors and their buddies!  This project was first introduced at our District opening day for teachers and staff and our very own PHS Math teacher, Sandi Schaeffer became very interested in launching the program at our Highschool!  As it turned out,15 littles from Durham Elementary were paired up with their high school (trained) mentors and the magic happened!

Junior, Xander Riexinger, and Mrs. Sandi Shaffer (pictured above) were recognized at the Big Brothers Big Sisters end of year celebration!  Xander was named as the School Based High School BIG of the Year, while Sandi was named as the School Based Liaison of the Year.
