This program provides an opportunity for students to acquire life skills, develop leadership skills, and explore career choices. As defined in our district's Mission Statement, "Inspired to Lead, Prepared to Succeed," it is the goal of this program for students to develop the following skills:
- Collaboration
- Communication
- Intellectual Curiosity and Creativity
- Independent Problem-Solving
- Cultural Understanding for Civic and Global Engagement
- Self-Awareness and Self-Evaluation
- Develop Respect for Self, Individuals and Diversity
Palisades students are required to participate in three hours of Volunteer Service Experience (VSE) each year. Signed logs of their hours must be submitted to the task in Naviance by May of each school year.
The schedule to reintegrate this program since the COVID waiver is as follows:
CLASS OF 2024 - 6 HOURS total by May, 2024
CLASS OF 2025 - 9 HOURS total by May, 2025
CLASS OF 2026 & LATER - 12 HOURS total by May of senior year
Completed logs should be scanned and uploaded to the student's Portfolio folder in Google Drive and then submitted to Naviance. Portfolio teachers will verify the log so students can earn credit in their portfolio grade.
