News Flash

As we get closer to the beginning of the 2020-21 school year on Monday, August 31st, we wanted to be certain to share a few very important details.  Here are some helpful notes for you:


BUS INFO:

  1. Bus information was emailed to all families last week (8/13).  Any questions can be emailed to busconcerns@palisd.org or call 484-812-0150.

  2. If your child will not be bussed to/from the home address you have supplied, please complete this Bus Stop Exception Form

CALENDAR UPDATES:  Please see the updated calendar linked here - District Calendar At A Glance 

  1. Back to School Nights for PALMS (8/26), PHS (8/27) and Elementary (9/2) are all postponed for now.  Additional information will be forthcoming from the individual building principals when they are rescheduled.

  2. August 31st is the first day of school for most students.  Students who are enrolled in face to face programming, and will be in grades K through 5, 6 and 9 will attend a half day orientation in their assigned schools.  PHS/PALMS will dismiss at 12:00PM and elementary schools will dismiss at 1:15PM.

  3. Students who are enrolled in the Palisades Cyber Academy (grades K-12) will begin classes on September 1st.  This will also be the first full day of school for ALL students returning face to face (K-12).

  4. Students who are enrolled in the Upper Bucks Technical School will begin on September 2nd.

  5. High school students who have chosen to return for face to face instruction will begin classes remotely and will return to the high school on September 16th.

CHROMEBOOKS:

  1. If your student has a damaged chromebook, please fill out this google form to have it replaced:  http://cbrepair.palisd.org

  2. Newly registered students who are enrolled in the Palisades Cyber Academy for the start of the school year and do not already have a district-issued chromebook can pick up one next Tuesday (8/25) and Wednesday (8/26) between the hours of 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM in front of Durham Nox Elementary.  Parents/guardians can stop by anytime between those hours. 

  3. Any students who did not get a district-issued chromebook during our district closure last spring should request it using this Chromebook Request Form and we will arrange a time for you to pick them up.

  4. New students who chose face to face, will receive their chromebook (at their assigned school) when they come to their first day of school.

CYBER ACADEMY ORIENTATION:

  1. An orientation will be held for all elementary parents/guardians who are enrolled in the Palisades Cyber Academy in the afternoon on Thursday, August 27th from 1-1:45PM.

  2. Secondary parents/guardians (grades 6-12) who are enrolled in the Palisades Cyber Academy will be invited to attend an online orientation on Thursday, August 27th from 2-2:45PM.

  3. The links to join and any additional information will be sent out early next week.


Lunches

Please see the attached information regarding lunches for face to face students, as well as Cyber Academy students:  Food Service Updates

 

MASKS:

Our Health and Safety Plan has been updated to reflect the new guidance from the Departments of Health and Education.  Masks are now being required during the school day when in our buildings.  Masks breaks will be provided when it is appropriate to do so (more than 6’ apart); the breaks may not be for more than 10 minutes, according to the guidance provided (8/17).




RETURNING STUDENT INFORMATION FORMS:

We will be emailing the Returning Student Information Form (electronic form) for ALL returning students tomorrow (Thursday, August 20th).  Please complete this form regardless of whether your child(ren) is/are returning to school face to face or remotely.  This form must be completed by August 28th to ensure that we have all of the updated contact and medical information for your child(ren) as we begin the school year.  This information is imported into our student information system and may be used by our nurses, teachers, cafeteria staff and administration for communications.

 

SUPPLIES/MATERIALS FOR STUDENTS:

  1. A schedule for picking up necessary books and other materials will be communicated soon for all students who are enrolled in the Palisades Cyber Academy.  

  2. Supply lists for all students have been sent by building principals and are posted on the individual school’s website (main page/bottom left).
